Ric Rac Roses

Hey there crafters!
Today we're going to show you a super duper easy project-
Ric Rac Roses!
Awww, Doesn't that look so cute?
Here are the ingredients:
about 12 inches of medium ric rac
hot glue gun
and what ever you want to attach the pretty roses to.
( ring base, hair clip, picture frame etc.)
first bend your ric rac in half...
...then take one piece over the other to weave the "zigs" and the "zags" together.
Start with the right piece and place it over the left,
continuing this pattern until you get to the end.
Look! it gets kind of twisty.
Table edges are good for something besides bumping into,
you can rub your ric rac on it and look what happens...
Ta Da! Nice and straight!
Start at the fold, and tightly roll up your ric rac braid
When you finish rolling,
just tuck the end pieces to the bottom and hot glue in place
Now for the fun part!
Just start from the outside edge and bend back your little "petals."
I call it "making them do back bends."
Keep going around till you can't bend them back anymore.

Glue your little pretty on to what ever you want.
Here we are gluing it onto a ring base.
(Little pretty = ric rac rose)

So pretty and the possibilities are endless.
We've tried using the jumbo size and it works great.
We also played around with using 2 colors.
Have fun, and see what you can come up with.
Thanks for stopping by!

Cutesy Clipboard

Yay! Our first tutorial!
We are so excited to get this blog up and running and wanted to start with a fun original idea that is SUPER simple!

Check out these Cutesy Little Clipboards!

Here are a few examples of different ways to decorate them!
What you will need:

12x12 Scrapbooking paper
Variety of Yarn
Variety of Ribbon
Scissors
Craft Spray On Glue
Sponge
Permanent Ink Pad
Paper Cutter
Clipboard

Hopefully you will have most of this at home already!
Step 1:
Cut Scrapbooking paper to size
Step 2:
Spray back of paper with glue and center on the front of the clipboard. After placing the paper down, you will want to wipe it down from the center out to make sure there are no air bubbles.
Step 3:
Press sponge in ink and gently dab the edges of the clipboard overlapping on to the paper until you have created the desired look.
Step 4:
Cut Ribbon and Yarn. Roughly around 5 inches long. You can make this as full as you want!
Step 5:
Tie yarn in sets of at least two and ribbon individually (depending on the thickness of the ribbon) until the entire bar of the clip has been covered.
Step 6:
Fluff it up a little, add your notes (or a cute little doily) and enjoy!!!
This is a cute way to jazz up a boring clipboard. I use mine to write out what my kids and I are going to do for the day- my daughter users hers to draw on...and you could add magnets to the back to cutesy up your fridge!
